rosa and napa, freezing in san rafael. it goes on and on. lots of 30s. 35 in half moon bay. 40 is in downtown san francisco checking in at 41 degrees. we'll be getting really close to some record low temperatures. here are our forecasted temperatures for wednesday and the current records. you will see approaching that record for tomorrow morning. livermore, the record is safe there, same no napa. richmond could tie it and oakland could break the previous records. thursday temperatures will drop more in the morning. tomorrow, afternoon highs, 40s and low 50s. this is usually where we see our morning lows. i think coats are in order and the hats, and temperatures will be cold here and in the sierra. the snow tapered off this evening. by tomorrow morning the temperatures will be in the single digits in the sierra and negative for thursday morning. friday, it will warm as another storm approaches, another cold arctic system, so the next couple of days is cold. friday, a little bit of cloud cover will warm things up. rain friday, drying out for the weekend, and then another round of

at the airport to deice the planes. in napa, oakland, richmond, and san jose, they will break records. we will get close in liver more and san rafael. 51 in oakland. 50 in livermore. clear skies over the bay area. we will have clear skies, cold conditions. it will take a dive into the evening. by 6:00 showers will be in the north bay. tell be showery and the main band of rain will move through. look at the diablo range. snow levels will drop to 2,000 feet. it moves to the south bay by 2:00. over the coastal hills and the diablo range. another frigid start tomorrow. sunday is clear and frigid. you can expect freeze warnings. we will warm heading into next week. >>> the city of oakland is shedding the violent reputation. oakland comes in at number 6 on the list. oakland is great for hip hipsters, the success of the as and for travelers. >>> people are decorating their homes with lights and displays. these are photos some have shared with us. you can e-mail them to us at breakingnews @ we have another local special. live all around the bay with spectacular light displays. friday

, two days before the 49ers square off with the seahawks. there was snow? napa. not quite as cold tonight as it has been. our chief meteorologist is with us. is there another freeze in our future? >> there is, but it's not going to come tonight. it will come into sunday morning. we're dealing with heavy rain right now. let's zoom in. you see the blue there on the screen, not only is that snow but that is heavy snow. right now we're seeing heavy downpours of rain and heavy snow over the higher terrain. this orange here representing pretty good downpours. we're seeing rainfall rates that are pretty high. 1.9 inches of rain per hour right there over the east bay shoreline. in san francisco we were seeing heavy downpours, as well. you can see the orange here, about a half an inch of rain. ed red is about an inch of rain heading down. as we look at the sierra, we see wide-spread snow. we might see snow locally here in the bay area. >>> emergency crews are on the scene of a water main break in castro valley. several homes have reportedly been damaged. the chp says a fire truck actually
